I started another WordPress blog called Mytube Music. I wanted to be able to embed my favorite youtube musician videos. I’m going to try and post at least one video there a day. Check it out and if you have any favorite tube musicians let me know I’ll post them.

Alesis is a pro audio company that has a great reputation with many musicians and recording engineers. I use there Multimix firewire mixer to do home recording and love it. Well I noticed on Alesis website some new products that look very interesting. First the the USB Podcasting Mic, looks like a nice desktop condenser mic just plug in open you favorite DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and your in business.
And this 16 channel USB 2.0 mixer. It looks like it has the ability to record multichannel’s to separate tracks at the same time. The cool thing about this is that until now almost all usb audio interfaces would only record to two tracks at a time. This may be replacing Firewire that has been the only way to record multichannel simultaneously.
This one is a portable 8 channel ipod recording station. I can also record to your computer, ipod or both at the same time.

One of my first post was called Tube Girls where I linked to some talented young singers. Well I figured I would add some more young (I think talented) musicians.
The first one is a song in progress from the singer of Sick of Sarah. The song is called “Paint Like That”, I think it’s got lots of potential.
The second is by a Girl who I think is just 15 years old. This girl is very impressive and has a sweet voice. If you like her check out her other video she sounds like a old pro.
This one I wrote about before this time with a cover of Hey Delilah by the Plain White T’s. I love her voice.

One of my least favorite parts about writing this blog is creating picture links. The problem, well more of a annoyance is keeping track of multiple url’s. First I copy the url of the site I’m going to link to, click the link button, paste the url, then copy the url of the image I want to use, click the img button then paste the url of the picture, then close tag. Also sometimes I’ll write a post in a separate text editor “textedit usually” and again have to copy and paste. This can be more of a pain when writing a new page with several url’s.
Well today I’m trying a real cool app called iClip. What it lets me do is place a slick looking dock that works like the os x dock but holds several clippings. I’m just dragging url’s and text to different frames in the dock to outline this post. Then just a click of a small arrow in the dock frame adds it to the post. I can see this coming in pretty handy. It also will create a alias to media files so they’re easy to find and keep them out of the way so it won’t clutter up you desktop.
I didn’t read the help file that came with it but it is very straight forward and a real no brainer. It has several preferences that let you customize the look and actions plus totally customizable hot keys.
And the real cool thing is if you go to MacZot give it a try and blog about it we may be able to get it for Free. If you don’t I’m going to have to shell out…well $21 at the moment.

Saw this a Joy of Tech

note; BestBuy will be selling the apple tv next tuesday. They are the only retailer that have them for the next two weeks other then Apple of course.

I’m sure you heard by now that the AppleTv has begun to ship. I know that someday the sleek looking box will be sitting in my living room. I think I’ll wait to see if I can find one ebay or from the apple refurbished store.
I already watch content bought from itunes and video podcast on my LCD tv. The problem is (and this is a first world problem I know) that to get the content on my tv I have to load it on my ipod and then connect the ipod to the tv. This is made easy with the apple dock. I don’t know if it’s just that I’m to lazy to spend the ten minutes to download, sync and dock or I’m just a gadget addict.

Did you ever wonder what stan, kyle, cartman and kenny would look like in real life? No, me either. But thankfully someone did and has skills. Click on the picture to see a larger size.

I changed out the bridge pickup in my old Charvel guitar. So I decided to make a video of it, I don’t know why don’t ask. Anyway I shot the video and put it to a song I did in Garageband and the lead is played on my guitar not a keyboard.

Over the last couple of months my old 29″ CRT tv has been acting strange. Mostly not wanting to turn on and sometimes the picture disappearing for a few seconds then pops back up. Well two days ago it gave up all together.
I new what I had to do, get a LCD tv. Sounds easy enough but so many brands to choose from and so many acronyms. After a intense crash course in HDtv, LCD, ATSC, QAM and NTSC I was ready to tackle the performance scores. Viewing Angle, Response Time, Native Contrast Ratio vs Dynamic Contrast Ratio. Go ahead quiz me! Next what connectors do I need and how many…
Inevitably a trip to the mall was in order. Salesmen in nicely pressed shirts wearing the mandatory badge with the “How can we serve you” written above their name. All of them telling me that they meet or beat the other guys price. And as I found out this is almost true until you add in the extended warranty.
To make a long story endless I spent hours researching on google, did comparisons and talked to six salesmen. And in the end went with the guy that assured me that his price was good and the tv was great and the extended warranty was not to be passed up at this price.
Anyway I’ll be picking up my Sharp AQUOS Friday night. Stay tuned.
